[8:2]  1 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[8:2]  2 tn Or “wilderness” (so KJV, NRSV, NLT); likewise in v. 15.

[22:6]  3 tn Heb “and the mother sitting upon the chicks or the eggs.”

[22:6]  4 tn Heb “sons,” used here in a generic sense for offspring.

[28:25]  5 tc The meaningless MT reading זַעֲוָה (zaavah) is clearly a transposition of the more commonly attested Hebrew noun זְוָעָה (zÿvaah, “terror”).

[29:23]  6 tn Heb “the anger and the wrath.” This construction is a hendiadys intended to intensify the emotion.

[32:39]  7 tn Verses 39-42 appear to be a quotation of the Lord and so the introductory phrase “says the Lord” is supplied in the translation for clarity.

[32:39]  8 tn Heb “deliver from” (so NRSV, NLT).

[34:4]  9 tn Heb “seed” (so KJV, ASV).

[34:4]  10 tn The Hebrew text includes “with your eyes,” but this is redundant in English and is left untranslated.
